Xmas Trees Aint getting Shorter

It came upon a midnight clear
As I sat real quiet drinking Santas beer
I’m not as bright this time of year
Now I am growing older by the year

Well the ribbons all wrapped around that tree
But as I grew taller it was not for me
I once believed in Santa Claus
And lookin' for the prints of his reindeer paws

It's a silent night
But not feelin' right

I’d turned myself into some kind of grinch
No nutmeg in my eggnog not a pinch
As the years rolled by it ‘came such a cinch
As the Chistmas tree shrunk inch by inch

But no!
Now the cold wind blows
Ho ho
Hope that no one knows

But then I think about a friend next door
And his pretty little girl who's turnin' four
Remembering how it was before
When I used to nail the mistletoe above your door

I’ve been hardened so

It begins to snow

And then I hear the bells and the carols clear
From that little Christmas angel in my ear
I stand right up, I shed a tear
'Cause there's no use feeling grumpy this time of year

Now I’m feeling fine
For some family time
Plugging Santa's line

Just a little more magic just ask my daughter
As I look right down to the things I bought her
The thaw is coming early and I think it oughta
