Snowflake LOVES ccMixter! Check out their cool blogpost where you can stream more than 30 remixes of Snowflake's EarthDay track 'Apologize' - HERE!

Snowflake is working on her next a capella for ccMixter remix. Comment below with your suggestion for topic and style!

    Here is my suggestion:

topic: metaphoric? commentary on pollution, general inefficiency and relatively high danger of cars as a mode of transport (particularly for daily commutes)

style: primarily a jerky or segmented feel, with periods of blissful fluidity, punctuated by loud dissonant crescendo(s?)

I don't work in sung melodies often, preferring instrumentals or spoken word tracks. I'll suggest 2 things that advance a spoken word track and an instrumental, respectively.

Format: spoken word, spoken slowly, no melody.

Topic: a simple description of a great childhoodt time, no adornment, no "wiggle words" like lovely or meaningful, no grand points or obvious moralisms, just a moment in which you just "are".

to me, spoken word tracks are at their
best when they are 1:30 to 1:50 in length. Shorter can be too little to work with, longer makes the song too wordy.

Also, on a different topic, next time you upload a sung melody, perhaps you could upload a second wave file which is just
one note being held a purely as possible for 5 to 7 seconds. I'd use that note as a sample for a sythesizer melody. No fx, no vibrato, just simple, if you have the inclination.

Snowflake, I find that C is often the best because it's then easiest to shift it to the desired pitch. I can work with any key. The key is less important, though, than the "purity" and lack of fx or undue tremelo on the vox.
