Wolf Sebastian Releases Debut Album 'Solo Remembering'
I am very excited to launch my first solo album on TuneTrack. I wanted to call it “Solo Remembering” because each piece of music that you hear represents a strong memory for me. The places where these mostly live recordings were made represent significant stepping stones in my life. They range from Berlin to Florida and then Los Angeles. This album would not have been possible without the help of my dear friend Emily Richards who tirelessly worked on perfecting and mastering the often uneven live recordings, many which had large amounts of hiss and room noise. I also want to thank Alex Goodwin for his technical expertise and Jason Brock for his support.
The repertory that is presented here on my album consists of some of the most well-known pieces written for the violoncello. I have put all my love for that music and energy into these recordings. I want to thank Terry Spiller whose piano playing inspired me to some of my best playing in the Beethoven and Strauss. As for the Cassado and Kodaly solo pieces I especially liked the improvisatory style of those compositions where it is not always possible to predict “the next move”.
Anyone can listen to Solo Remembering for free! To download in CD-quality (FLAC) or MP3, join my Green Room. I appreciate your support. Read the official press release here.
I hope the listening experience will be enjoyable.
hours were spent creating, recording, mixing and mastering music with the folks at ArtisTech Media (Emily, Jason & Alex). We are working on my solo EP that will soon be released here at TuneTrack. It will feature two original improvisations, Bourrees I & II by Bach and three movements by Cassado.
