ccMixter API Part of San Francisco Music Hackday via Colin Mutchler
A special thanks to Colin Mutchler (commonsplice) for sharing the ccMixter at the recent Music Hackday....and for writing the post below. Thanks Colin!
It was great to be at Music Hackday. I shared about ccMixter on Saturday, ended up making a 'scene' using some of teru's voices sample pack for a reactive music iphone app called RjDj, and there were two hacks that used the ccMixter API.
Here are the links to the two ccMixter hacks, as well as the rest of the hacks if you're interested.
The Profounderilizer - (aka The Ira Glassifier) - By adding musical interludes (from ccMixter), make the tale of your mundane existence sound as profound as an episode of This American Life: http://musichackdaysf2010.pbworks.com/The-Profoundilizer
CloudyVoices - A series of sound scenes composed with Acappella sound sof CCmixter with EchoNext API using Supercollider and Groovy. http://musichackdaysf2010.pbworks.com/CloudyVoices
Mixter Memory is the first attempt at using selected voice samples from the ccMixter remix community, along with reactive music app RJC1000 desktop app from RJDJ, including samples from Melissa K, Duncan, Colin Mutchler, and Pat Chilla the Beat Gorilla. I'll upload scenes to RJDJ soon. http://musichackdaysf2010.pbworks.com/Mixter-Memory
