Unique Holiday Music Celebrates Winter Season, Inspires Listeners with What Matters Most

Season of Gratitude album coverToday ArtisTech Media is pleased to announce the release of a new winter-holiday collaboration by ccMixter, Season of Gratitude. This online community’s double album is a breath of fresh winter air for listeners weary of the same holiday tunes year after year. Season of Gratitude by ccMixter explores giving of the heart, while embracing a variety of cultures and traditions through song.

“This delightfully-hip collection of holiday-inspired music instills an attitude of gratitude,” remarked Emily Richards, CEO of ArtisTech Media. “Listening to Season of Gratitude lifts me to a euphoric space of appreciation for the simple things and beautiful moments that can be easily overshadowed in the bustle this time of year.”

Season of Gratitude B SidesThe first side of Season of Gratitude has a joyful, pop-ridden, organic feel as it shares new, original songs like The Little Things and Winter Glow and revitalizes public domain classics with a crunch-guitar version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and a pop-folk rendition of Auld Lang SyneSeason of Gratitude B Sides features an eclectic mix of electronic tracks with acoustic songs sprinkled throughout. The double album genre hops into pop, rock, electronica, funk, reggae, punk, and everything in between, and yet the collection is one enjoyable, cohesive listen.

"Once again the creative light of the ccMixter community sparkles!” exclaimed Susan Joseph, Creative Director of ccMixter. “I love that we were able to create a non-denominational, stylistically diverse holiday album that touches on the full range of how the holidays feel -- from the comfort of tradition to the delight of exploring what the holiday season means in our modern age.”

Season of Gratitude
was first conceived last November, when the ccMixter all-volunteer admin team organized its annual Holiday Remix Event called Gift of Song. The community created original holiday-themed samples, a capellas, songs, and remixes. True to all ccMixter uploads, each original sound was released with Creative Commons licenses which inspire collective creativity and allow everyone to enjoy the resulting songs for free. The Season of Gratitude double album is a curation of the remixes that transpired from the event, re-mastered by ccMixter artist Copperhead, for optimum sound quality.

“I love participating in the annual holiday remix event on ccMixter,” shares Kara Square, contributing Season of Gratitude artist.  “The atmosphere on the site is extra warm and open-minded.  As we contribute, we learn about each other’s beliefs and celebrate our diversity through the music we invent.”

ccMixter.org is a collective of musicians around the world, creating music together in a virtual environment. Termed “the most prominent experiment in free music culture”, ccMixter includes contributions from the Beastie Boys, David Byrne, Cee-Lo and other innovative musicians.

The ccMixter community is pleased to offer this compilation of festive tunes with the Season of Gratitude double album.  ArtisTech Media, in partnership with Los Angeles-based Big Fish Media, is thrilled to release this celebratory winter collection on iTunes. A double album on CD is also available at select locations in the Los Angeles area, printed with soy-inks on 100% recycled cardstock with biodegradable shrink-wrap.
