Thank you for a Great Night!
What would you expect when John Jones releases a new album? What would expect when our own CEO, Emily Richards, throws an album release party? What happens when DJ Sky ('touch Sky!') and entourage shows up to spin for the afterparty? You guessed it....
You'd expect Steve Ferrone to sit in on a set with Jones on a few of his new cuts. You'd expect a VIP spread, champagne toasts and a party on the dance floor. You're betting you'd see a tear-jerking version of "Jealous Guy" with Kim Crain on background vocals (which by the way she rocked last night!) and a spontaneaous version of "Come Together." And there is no doubt that you'd witness Davinci lead the audience in a mantra meditation before performing "Long Time Sun."
Then, if you added to the artist list Jayson Haws, Sean Halley, Richard Martinez, and Periel & Brad Stanfield, you'd get the opportunity to see live versions of yet unreleased material. Jayson Haws played a sweet version of "Why" to a full house with Richard on percussion. Sean debuted Nimble Tailors live for the first time ever with drummer Michael Packer on the track "Believe" and Periel's "Earth is My Church" rocked the place with Brad on the pschydelic strat.
Now, if you wanted surprises...how about seeing Geoff Hartman ride in on a Harley? How about Jason Hoar spoon-feeding medicinal concoctions to our friends from New Orleans? (Of course Toulouse was involved, though only tangentially.) How about Victor Stone just happening to be in town, encouraging us all to take part in the "some rights reserved" remix culture while psy-trance beats are pouring from the house sound system. Underline Victor's musings with Ferrone sitting in on Spinning Merkaba's "Soldier" remix and you've got ccMixter Live in lights. Oh, and let's not forget Emily nearly falling off stage during her song "The Pool"....
These are just a few of the happenings you missed last night if you couldn't make it to Life on Wilshire. John Jones, with the support of ArtisTech Records, celebrated the pre-released of his new album "Black n White" in memorable style (John's Indigo Club Members get 'Black n White today' - iTunes release date is in three weeks). Both John and Team ArtisTech thank everyone who made this possible. We all had great time!
The first 50 Indigo Club Members will receive a credit in the album art of "Black n White" as a thank you for support. Indigo Members also receive John's first album "One Moment in Time" and some other nice extras!

Truly a fun hang - I can't believe the power of Emily was strong enough to get me to play freaking percussion on Come Together, for God's sake! Ha!
Hopefully, the excessive number of three-over-four phrases (and the proximity to Jason's pedalboard, allowing me to screw him up repeatedly by randomly turning pedals on and off at the exact wrong time) will teach you guys not to hand me sticks and a tambourine next time :) :)
Seriously though, it was truly a trippy evening - glad to be a part of it!

Your barking was exquisite DaVinci....as were the performances from everyone. I am still feeling the energy (and the hangover!)
Peace....

Sorry I needed to woof more last night. In the middle of the song my intellect got the better part of me. Why was I the only one barking? I need to stop... And then you all joined in. I think we had some pretty amazing Dogs on stage. The Artistech All Star Band Rocked the top off LIFE. May the long time sun shine upon all of youz...
